Especially for ewe

We had a lovely amble today round Derwentwater which took us through some interesting woodland and along the shore line of the Lake which would have been around the 10 mile mark. Rucksacks were left at the campsite for a few of us and we headed off to do the part of the Cumbria way which we missed yesterday by doing Catbells.
The weather again was sunny with patches of cloud and some threatening rain clouds in the distance, but we were very fortunate again and had dry weather for the whole walk.
Half way along the first part of the walk we passed herds of sheep walking the path,  so I made sure i got plenty of snaps :-)

We got to a cafe just after the halfway point of the walk and sat outside to enjoy a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake and yet again the views were just stunning.  The return walk back to Keswick took us past more woodland and a picturesque waterfall just off the path which we diverted off to and admired it's tranquility. After a pleasant walk through the woods we ventured back down to the shore and came to the theatre by the lake with hustle and bustle of tourists taking in the lakes natural beauty and met up with Richard who had taken the day off for a bit of r&r. We cut through the park to get back into Keswick and we are now sitting in the pub having a refreshment before we head back to site. Another great day had by all and plenty of more photo opportunities along the way.

  1. Yay - I've been upto that waterfall it's fab isn't it - did you put your stone on the log going up?

Great pics again Andrew and Alison will be pleased that not all the sheep are in Wales :-D Becky will be pleased with the panoramic shot (although it is on it's side!) and the best pics have to be the one missing the top of the lads heads and Stuart sitting in the giants hands. It makes him look about six.

Enjoy the rest of your evening - look forward to hearing all about your 'Italian' tomorrow.

  2. Hurrah for the sheep! They are so sweet! Alison will be pleased (even if she is a bit weird for being so obsessed with sheep... #worriedforalison) :-D

Lots of corkers there mate; And you're not wrong Dawn Crooks - I'm all about that panoramic shot. I feel like I've been missing out without panoramic pics :-D
